Championship Week Wednesday 3/9

* No change to the bracket from yesterday, but congratulations go out to Long Island U and Northern Colorado for clinching their spots in the bracket.

* Marquette moves up a line from 12 to 11 for their win over West Virginia. They should be good to go now and give the Big East a record 11 bids.

* Terrible finish for my Rutgers Scarlet Knights, who caught some terrible officiating at the end of their game with St. John's at the Garden. Still, a solid first season for Mike Rice. Things could be looking up in Jersey finally.

* Big day tomorrow with Colorado trying to sew up a bid with a win over Kansas State (for the third time this season), USC making a late charge needs to win over Cal, Southern Miss and Memphis in a big C-USA matchup, Michigan St on life support needing to beat Iowa, Colorado St vs New Mexico in a dandy in the MWC, Virginia Tech looking to avoid the dreaded "bad loss" vs. Georgia Tech, and Washington St with a last gasp vs. Washington.

  1. Since you mention Rutgers, that was a crazy ending to their game against St. John's! The officials definitely messed up, but I hope they won’t let their mistakes bother them forever. I thought Rutgers coach Mike Rice handled the situation with a lot of class. Most coaches at any level of basketball would have gone ballistic if similar circumstances occurred. At least this event didn’t occur during the national championship game though. That certainly would have caused a massive uproar from players, coaches, and fans.
